Brisbane-based Emerson Leif has just dropped the second single from his upcoming debut EP: ‘Next2’. The warm indie track is layered in vocal harmony and effortless melodies, with the lo-fi production underneath allowing for Leif’s vocal to shine. The track came together quickly, with the melody and lyrics appearing at the same time, and production finishing up just a couple of weeks later. Regarding its writing, the Australian singer-songwriter explains, “I am excited about this track as it is one of those songs where the music, lyrics and emotional intent are effortlessly cohesive. It’s about realising you are valuable and loved. It’s about overcoming the fear of not being enough and embracing vulnerability through the process”.
